Aim of creation.
The aim of creation is to give a chance to all the souls to become human beings and then to realize God Who is absolute Bliss. They can realize God by doing absolute good actions and surrendering to Him. Souls are unlimited in number and are in an infinitesimal ‘life’ form, having a subtle mind of their own. When they receive human body during the creation they do good or bad actions according to the discrimination of their own mind. The record of these actions, called the sanskars or the karmas, are stored in a section of the mind. The consequences of these karmas have to be fructified otherwise there would be no meaning of classifying them as good or bad, and they do fructify. Thus, these collective karmas are like a subtle semi-dormant ‘force’ which reside in the mind of every soul and become the cause of its next incarnation; and the force of the collective karmas of all the unlimited souls works as one of the causal forces to create and maintain the universe. inundation
Duration of creation.
The duration of the existence of the universe is countless but not unlimited. It goes on perpetually in a cyclic motion, like the creation state, and then no-creation state. In the no-creation state (called maha pralaya) the creative energies and the forces remain in an absolutely subtle and dormant state, and in the creation state they evolve in the form of the universe as we see it today. There was no beginning of this ‘cycle of creation and maha pralaya.’ It is eternal.
Powers involved in the creation.
God inspires the power maya (the cosmic power in its absolute subtle form) which evolves itself into the form of the universe and the souls begin to reside in the universe in living form. Thus there are three entities involved in the creation of the universe. They are: God, all the souls, and the lifeless maya. God is almighty and absolute-life-knowledge-Bliss. He is omnipresent in His Divine personal form and has uncountable absolute virtues. Just like, He is all-Gracious, all-beautiful, all-loving, all-charming, all-knowing, all-kind and all-forgiving to whoever takes refuge in Him. Maya (the cosmic power) is a lifeless miraculous energy or power. It has three characteristics or qualities called sattvagun, tamogun and rajogun (pious, evil and selfish; pretty, ugly and normal; and positive, negative and neutral) that appear in every part of its creation. Souls, in the universe, are unlimited and are infinitesimal.
Lifelessness of maya, and the life aspect of a soul.
Maya is lifeless, so it is also mindless. Life and mind complement each other. A living being cannot be without a mind and the mind aspect can never exist on its own. So both stay together, never alone or separately. Here ‘life’ means the living aspect of a being, like a toad has life not a pebble although they may look alike.
Forces that keep the universe running.
There are two forces that keep the universe running continuously. They are ‘time’ (called the kalam) and ‘karmam’ (the accumulative force of the accumulated karmas of all the unlimited souls, as described above).
Time (kalam) factor is not just the elapsed period that we count according to the calendar. Time (kalam) is an eternal energy like maya which is a strong force that starts the manifestation of the mayic attributes (which gradually become the universe), and then it keeps the universe moving forward until maha pralaya. The time, that we calculate as the age of something or the passing period of an ongoing event, is the calculation of the aging process of something, or it is a point of determining the past, present or future. It is like a parameter that gives you an understanding of the period that elapsed or it helps you keep the record of an event of past, present or future. But the ‘force of time’ that pushes the universe to move forward is an ‘eternal energy’ that exists side by side with maya.
Procedure of the creation of the universe.
All the three: souls along with their karmas, maya, and kalam (time), stay in God in an absolutely subtle form and in an absolutely dormant state during maha pralaya. They are activated by the will of God. After certain subtle phases of evolution the first thing that comes into being is the endless empty space.
There are seven phases of extremely subtle manifestations of maya that had already happened before the ‘space’ came into being. (1) Space was the eighth subtle manifestation which was, in fact, the first gross manifestation of the energy of maya. (2) In the endless space, unlimited number of pockets of various sizes were created. They became the base of uncountable sub-universes. Within that unimaginably enormous and endless-like looking space, the ninth phase of maya (called vayu) was evolved which created a circular movement in the space itself, as if the entire space was in a circular motion from its central point. (3) Then, all over in that space, subparticles evenly emerged. This was the tenth phase of mayic manifestation (agni). (4) Then the subparticles and the particles annihilated to form hydrogen atoms. This was the eleventh phase of mayic manifestation (apah). (5) Then gravity began to predominate and the basic structure of uncountable galaxies and their clusters (as scientists know) were gradually formed. This was the twelfth phase. The ‘already existing motion’ in the space now made it look like the galaxies were moving away from each other. The speed of this motion of the space varied in different areas of this visible universe but with a perfectly controlled synchronization. (The topic of creation is further detailed in “The Divine Vision of Radha Krishn.”)
None of the existing theories so far have been able to create such a model of the universe that could accommodate all the features of the known universe. But, this knowledge was already incorporated in the Bhagwatam that was produced by Bhagwan Ved Vyas before 3102 BC. On the basis of the Bhagwatam, we have described this theory in 7 video speeches on the Brahm Sutra that reconciles all the existing problems which the scientists face in forming the model of the universe.
The functioning of a planetary system.
The supreme God Who controls the creation and the functioning of the entire universe is called Maha Vishnu. When the galaxies begin to assume their normal shape, at that point Maha Vishnu creates a great number of Divinely celestial spaces in the galaxies and He enters into those spaces. He then produces one Brahma in each section who controls the creation of the sun and its planetary system. Thus, in every planetary system there is one Brahma who is called the creator. Prior to the creation of the earth planet, Brahma extends the celestial space and creates celestial abodes of gods and goddesses. One planetary system with its celestial abodes is called one brahmand. In this way there are a great number of brahmandas in one galaxy. Celestial abodes are invisible as they are in a different space (dimension). Now we know that the formation of a planetary system is not a coincidental creation of nature as the cosmologists believe, it is a controlled formation. Souls are already in the universe in their subtle form, a certain (uncountable) number of souls are transferred to each planetary system run by its own Brahma, and then, gradually Brahma produces those souls on the earth planet in their material bodies.
Life on the earth planet.
After the formation of the earth planet, the ozone layer was formed, oceans began to exist, and the first form of life appeared on the earth planet. The Upanishad says that first the vegetation appeared.
How? The soil itself contains the subtle form of the seeds of all kinds of vegetation, like, grass, plants, shrubs, flowers and trees of all kinds. Brahma transfers the souls into those seeds and the first vegetation grows. Afterwards it creates its own seeds. The bodies of insects etc. are produced as a general procedure of the nature and Brahma transfers the souls into them. We know that sometimes in the rainy weather a lot of flying insects are formed in the open space. Later on, small creatures like fish and birds and then big creatures like tigers and elephants etc. are produced. At this time, Brahma produces the souls along with their body.
One thing must be noted here, that souls are eternal and they must have been living in some form prior to this creation before pralaya. Thus, it would be highly unjust if the soul of some human being is by mistake transferred into a worm’s body or a worm’s soul is transferred into the body of a human being. But you don’t have to worry, because Brahma is Graced with the Divine intelligence so he never makes such mistakes.
He produces all the souls exactly according to their previous status: grass becomes a grass, frog becomes a frog, lion becomes a lion, human becomes a human, and so on. So, Brahma produces the first pair of all the creatures big and small on the earth planet. Afterwards they multiply themselves.
One should not think that how did the animals just appear on the earth planet, or that there may be some kind of evolution process involved in that. The impracticality of the theory of evolution has already been discussed. The most significant thing is this, that when a Divine personality Brahma who is so powerful, that he creates the whole brahman, maintains the entire planetary system, and remembers the identity of each and every living being of the earth planet from each and every bacteria to an elephant and all the human beings as well, then there is no reason that he can’t create the bodies of the animals. So he does, and thus, the first creation of the animal world was done by Brahma.
BIG BANG THEORY CONCEPT AND CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE :
Big Bang Theory - The Premise
The Big Bang theory is an effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe. Discoveries in astronomy and physics have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that our universe did in fact have a beginning. The big bang theory is an effort to explain what happened during and after that moment. According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as "singularity" around 13.7 billion years ago. They are thought to exist at the core of "black holes." Black holes are areas of intense gravitational pressure. The pressure is thought to be so intense that finite matter is actually squished into infinite density (a mathematical concept which truly boggles the mind). These zones of infinite density are called "singularities." Our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitesimally small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, something - a singularity.
After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated (the "Big Bang"), expanded and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this day and we are inside of it: incredible creatures living on a unique planet, circling a beautiful star clustered together with several hundred billion other stars in a galaxy soaring through the cosmos, all of which is inside of an expanding universe that began as an infinitesimal singularity which appeared out of nowhere for reasons unknown. This is the Big Bang theory.
Big Bang Theory - Common Misconceptions
We mistake the concepts of Singularity as per science and also the Eka Brahmam as per the vedantam also, Many of us misunderstand that the Big Bang theory. For example, we tend to imagine a giant explosion. Experts however say that there was no explosion; there was (and continues to be) an expansion. Rather than imagining a balloon popping and releasing its contents, imagine a balloon expanding: an infinitesimally small balloon expanding to the size of our current universe. In this once over a stage the balloon will not have the capacity to contain itself by holding such a huge volume of air in it similarly the universe also started existing from the so called balck spot and scattered. The same way human being also is incapable of agreeing or understanding of the concept of singularity , he started denying Tat-Va-masi. He started looking for an alternate , he created / assumed various forms of God.
Big Bang Theory - What About God?
Any discussion of the Big Bang theory would be incomplete without asking the question, what about God? This is because cosmogony (the study of the origin of the universe) is an area where science and theology meet. Creation was a supernatural event. That is, it took place outside of the natural realm. This fact begs the question: is there anything else which exists outside of the natural kingdom? Specifically, is there a master Architect out there? We know that this universe had a beginning. Was God the "First Cause"?
Yes exactly we term the supernatural force that does all the creation and miracles is exactly none other than the BRAHMAN or the GOD.
Does God Exist - Things to Consider
Does God exist? An answer to this fundamental question is a prerequisite for answering the other big questions of life:
Where did we come from?
Why are we here?
Do we serve a purpose?
Do we have any intrinsic value?
What happens after we die?
The question of the existence of God is fundamental.
Our willingness to ask the question with an open mind is fundamental to our ability to discover the truth behind the answer. So first of all, before you even ask the question, decide whether or not you're really willing to accept the answer.
Once you're ready to ask the question, "does God exist?" here are a few observations to consider as you begin your search for an objective answer, here I have given my way of explanation on this :
Discoveries in astronomy have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that the universe did, in fact, have a beginning. There was a single moment of creation. This is what we say as Brahman one source and only source which is divided it selves in to various forms and Demigods.
Advances in molecular biology have revealed vast amounts of information encoded in each and every living cell, and molecular biologists have discovered thousands upon thousands of exquisitely designed machines at the molecular level. Information requires intelligence and design requires a designer. The design is not possible by a normal human at the time of existence of the Earth itself and which need the super natural source that is none other than the GOD
The universe is ordered by natural laws. Where did these laws come from and what purpose do they serve?
Philosophers agree that a transcendent Law Giver is the only plausible explanation for an objective moral standard. So, ask yourself if you believe in right and wrong and then ask yourself why. Who gave you your conscience? Why does it exist? The GOD who gave us the sixth sense to feel, think, pray, fear for conscience and think of him which itself is a crystal clear example of existence of Him.
ALL THE ABOVE QUESTIONS CAN BE ANSWERED BY THE FOLLOWING VERSES AS FOLLOWS :
GOD IS THE ORIGIN OF EVERYTHINGBut GOD HAS NO ORIGIN !!
I am the origin of all. Everything emanates from Me.
The wise who understand this adore Me with love and devotion. (10.08)
That which is One has become this all (RIG VEDA 8.58.02).
WHO IS GOD THEN AS PER HINDUISM
In the beginning there was neither Eternal Being (Sat, Brahma) nor temporal (Asat, Divine Beings, Devas) ¾ no sky, no air, neither day nor night. There was nothing whatsoever other than the Absolute Supreme Being (RIG VEDAM 10.129.01).
God does not possess a body like an ordinary being. All His senses are transcendental, or out of this world. His potencies are multifarious. Any one of His senses can perform the action of any other sense. All His deeds are automatically performed as a natural consequence.
He is undivided, yet appears to exist as if divided in living beings. He is the object of knowledge and appears as the Creator (Brahm), Sustainer (Vishnu), and Destroyer (Shankara) of all beings.
One planet earth appears divided into so many countries; one country appears divided into several states; one state appears divided into counties, and so on; similarly, one Reality appears as many. These are apparent divisions because they have the same order of reality. The term God is used for the Generator, Operator, and Destroyer aspects of Self.
The Supreme Being is the source of all lights. He is said to be beyond darkness of ignorance. He is Self-knowledge, the object of Self-knowledge, and seated in the inner psyche as consciousness (or Ishvara in verse 18.61) of all beings, He is to be realized by Self-knowledge. (13.17)
Let us first examine the meaning of Absolute Reality. Absolute means ultimate, independent, existing all by itself or complete by itself, and reality means nature, quality, or substance of objects. Thus Absolute Reality means ultimate nature of objects, called Brahman in Sanskrit. This word also means the substance that exists independent of all other substances and from which all other substances are derived. That from which the origin, sustenance, and dissolution of this universe are derived is called the Absolute (BS 1.01.02, TaU 3.01.01). Thus the Absolute Reality, the substance from which everything is derived, must be “Big” or limitless, because everything else is either derived from it or is included in it. Because it is absolute, there is nothing else other than the Absolute Reality, the substratum of everything. Thus Brahman is all encompassing substance --- the root cause of everything, known or unknown, seen or perceived, feelings or emotions, thoughts or things. Everything is included in the “Bigness” of Brahman. Nothing is left out --- including God.
Everything, perceivable or non-perceivable, in the cosmos is nothing but an apparent transformation of Brahman. It is the cause of all causes. Thus there is Brahman and Brahman only and nothing else. Brahman has apparently assumed different forms like water assumes different forms such as ice, vapor, ocean, waves, ripples, etc. The entire creation is born in time and space, and the time and space abides in Brahman. Thus Brahman is the absolute reality of everything including me, you, the animals, plants, minerals, our thoughts, knowledge, ignorance, happiness, suffering, etc. Thus there is nothing other than Brahman.
SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION OF CREATION OF UNIVERSE :
Approximately 13.7 billion years ago, the entirety of our universe was compressed into the confines of an atomic nucleus. Known as a singularity, this is the moment before creation when space and time did not exist. According to the prevailing cosmological models that explain our universe, an ineffable explosion, trillions of degrees in temperature on any measurement scale, that was infinitely dense, created not only fundamental subatomic particles and thus matter and energy but space and time itself. Cosmology theorists combined with the observations of their astronomy colleagues have been able to reconstruct the primordial chronology of events known as the big bang.
Quantum theory suggests that moments after the explosion at 10 -43 second, the four forces of nature; strong nuclear, weak nuclear, electromagnetic and gravity were combined as a single "super force"(Wald). Elementary particles known as quarks begin to bond in trios, forming photons, positrons and netrinos and were created along with their antiparticles. There are minuscule amounts of protons and neutrons at this stage; approximately 1 for every one billion photons, neutrinos or electrons (Maffei). The density of the Universe in its first moment of life is thought to have been 1094g/cm3 with the majority of this being radiation. For each billion pairs of these heavy particles (hadrons) that were created, one was spared annihilation due to particle-antiparticle collisions. The remaining particles constitute the majority of our universe today (Novikov).
During this creation and annihilation of particles the universe was undergoing a rate of expansion many times the speed of light. Known as the inflationary epoch, the universe in less than one thousandth of a second doubled in size at least one hundred times, from an atomic nucleus to 1035 meters in width. An isotropic inflation of our Universe ends at 10-35 second that was almost perfectly smooth. If it were not for a slight fluctuation in the density distribution of matter, theorists contend, galaxies would have been unable to form (Parker).
The universe at this point was an ionized plasma where matter and radiation were inseparable. Additionally there were equal amounts of particles and antiparticles. The ratio of neutrons and protons albeit small is equal. When the universe aged to one hundredth of a second old neutrons begin to decay on a massive scale. This allows for free electrons and protons to combine with other particles. Eventually the remaining neutrons combine with protons to form heavy hydrogen (deuterium). These deuterium nuclei combine in pairs and form helium nuclei. The formation of matter from energy is made possible by photons materializing into baryons and antibaryons with their subsequent annihilations transforming them into pure energy (Maffei). Because of these collisions and annihilations matter was unable to remain viable for more than a few nanoseconds before a bombardment of electrons would scatter these photons. Like water trapped inside a sponge, radiation is so dense (1014g/cm3) that no light is visible. Known as the "Epoch of Last Scattering" the temperature has now dropped to a mere 1013K with the Strong Nuclear, Weak Nuclear and Electromagnetic interactions now able to exert their force. (Chown)
As the gas cloud expands one full second after the initial explosion and the temperature of our Universe has dropped to ten billion degrees, photons no longer have the energy to disrupt the creation of matter as well as transform energy into matter. After three minutes and a temperature of one billion degrees, protons and neutrons were slowing down enough in order to allow nucleosynthesis to take place. Atomic nuclei of helium was produced as two protons and neutrons each bonded. For every helium nuclei formed there were about ten protons left over allowing for twenty-five percent of the Universe to be comprised of helium. The next important phase of the expansion occurred around thirty minutes later when the creation of photons increased through the annihilation of electron-positron pairs. The fact that the universe began with slightly more electrons than positrons has insured that our Universe was able to form the way it has (Parker).
The universe for the next 300,000 years will then begin to expand and cool to a temperature of 10,000°K. These conditions allowed for helium nuclei to absorb free floating electrons and form helium atoms. Meanwhile hydrogen atoms were bonding together and forming lithium. It is here that the density of the universe has expanded to the point where light can be perceived. Until this point photons continued to be trapped within matter. Finally the expansion allowed for light and matter to go there separate ways as radiation becomes less and less dense. Matter and radiation therefore too, were bonded no longer and the oldest fossils in the Universe were born (Peebles).
SPRITUALISTIC EXPLANATION OF CREATION OF UNIVERSE :
The Creation.
In the beginning, there was nothing in the universe. The was only darkness.
When the time came for creation to beigin, Vishnu removed the darkness and expaned into three. These three parts came to be known as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The first object that appeared was water and Vishnu slept on this water. Since nara means water and ayana means resting-place, Vishnu is accordingly also known as Narayana.
In this water next appeared a golden (hiranya) egg (anda). The egg shone with the radiance of a thousand suns. Inside the egg, Brahma grew from the navel of Vishnu. The egg was golden. Garbha means womb, and since Vishnu appeared inside a golden egg, he is also known as Hiranyagarbha.
For a thousand years Brahma stayed inside the egg. He then split the shell into two and emerged out. Heaven (svarga) was made from one half of the shell and the earth from the remaining half. All the land masses, the oceans, the rivers and the mountains, had been inside the egg in embryonic form. Brahma made them manifest.
CONCLUSION :
FROM ALL THE ABOVE DISCUSSION WE FIND ONE THING IN COMMON THAT THE SINGULARITY EXISTS IN BOTH PHYSICS AND IN RELEGIOUS WAY OF EXPLANATIONS. HENCE THE ADVAITHA PHILOSOPHY ALSO CLARRIFIES THE CONCEPT EKAH-BRAHMAM. RATHER THAN COMMENTING ON EXISTANCE OF GOD WITH ALL THE SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION, WE CAN UNDERSTAND ATLEAST WITHOUT A SUPER POWER THIS CREATION, BRILLIANCE, SENSES, DESIGN OF NEURAL SYSTEMS IN HUMAN BODY IS NOT AT ALL POSSIBLE. HENCE EXISTANCE OF GOD IS UNAVOIDABLE AND PROVEN
